Tellurometer
MRA1
The Tellurometer was invented by
Dr. T.L. Wadley, of the South African National Institute for
Telecommunications Research, and the first instrument, the MRA1 was
introduced in Canada in
1957.
The first one arrived with the simple terse instruction, "if anything
goes wrong, kick the power pack." The first power packs had a vibrator,
which occasionally stuck, so kicking the power pack was effective and
was the recommended practice."
