Equipment
The Alberta Land Surveyors' Association
is always seeking donations to its collection. This includes but is not
limited to surveying instruments, surveying tools and equipment,
drafting computing equipment, survey monumentation, maps and survey
plans, photographs and slides, audio tapes and videos, historic survey
books, surveyor diaries and memoirs.
Although
the collection focuses on objects, which were used in or are otherwise
connected with land surveying in Alberta, the Association will collect
objects:
- from other geographical areas which are representative of land
surveying throughout the world and which help to illustrate the general
context of land surveying in Alberta, or
- of fields related to land surveying and which help to illustrate the
context of land surveying
in society. This could include fields such as geodesy, hydrographic
surveying, topographic
and engineering surveying, mapping, remote sensing, town planning and
law.
