Norm Suvan

Norm Suvan was
born in Edmonton in May
1936.
He articled to
George Walker in
1965 and obtained his
commission as an Alberta Land Surveyor on June 9,
1972.
Mr. Suvan
worked with Walker Newby from
1954 to
1972 and became a
partner in the firm in
1966. In 1972, he
helped establish the firm of Suvan-Fettig & Associates Ltd. and remained an
active Alberta Land Surveyor with the firm until he sold the practice to Dave Strachan, Dave Williams
and Harvey Leach in 1992. The firm did some
oilfield survey work but mostly concentrated on the municipal side of the
profession and land development industry.
During his
career as an Alberta Land Surveyor, Norm Suvan articled Dave Armstrong, Jim
Harland and
Dwight Wiberg.
Upon leaving
the land surveying profession, he obtained his real estate brokers license
and is a principal in a land development company, Nor-Chris Holdings Inc.
with his two sons.
Mr. Suvan is
president of the Pioneer Gun Club and past-president of the Alberta Rugby Union
in 1972,
1973 and
1974. He was also the
founding member of the Edmonton Tiger Rugby Club in
1959 and was
instrumental in assembling and development of the Ellerslie Rugby Park in
Edmonton.
