Gerry Smyth

Gerry Smyth was born in Ottawa, Ontario in 1953. He graduated from Georges P. Vanier High School, Courtenay, BC in 1971, from BCIT with a diploma in Technical Surveying (1975-1977), and from the University of Calgary with a B.Sc. in Engineering (1985-1988).
 

Articles were served under J.G. Halliday, ALS. The topic of the technical report submitted in partial fulfillment of the qualifying examination was" Linking Local Networks with the Global Positioning System." Commission as an Alberta Land Surveyor was granted on August 20, 1992.
 

Gerry worked for BC Hydro in the Legal Surveys Division from 1977 to 1985 on various legal and engineering surveys. He has been employed by Midwest Surveys Inc. since 1988 and is also a member of CISM.

 

Hobbies include cycling, golf and photography.
