Leo Raessler

 

Leo Errol Raessler was born in Hanna, Alberta in March 1937 and grew up in Hondo, Alberta.

 

In 1958, he earned his survey diploma from SAIT and started with Alberta Transportation the same year and remained with them until 1963. From 1963-1969, he worke for the Federal Department of Transport.

 

On May 31, 1968, Leo Raessler earned his commission as an Alberta Land Surveyor after articling to Bjorn Rustad.

 

In 1970, Mr. Raessler joined Canadian Engineering Surveys and stayed with them until joining Challenger Surveys in 1984. In 1992, he joined The Cadastral Group, operating their Slave Lake Branch Office.

 

Leo Raessler retired as an active Alberta Land Surveyor on May 1, 2002.

 

Mr. Raessler was a licensed land agent and involved in the community through the Masonic Lodge, the Legion and various other community organizations.

 

His interests included hunting, fishing, trapping and quadding.
