Don Jaques

 

(On the occasion of his nomination for Council, 1999)

  • Born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan

  • Attended Yorkton Collegiate Institute, graduating in 1955

  • Attended University of Saskatchewan

  • Obtained SLS commission in May 1965; ALS commission in September 1969; and CLS commission in June 1981

  • Served two terms on the ALSA Council; 1978-1980 and 1985-1987, and as vice-president in 1998-1999

  • Served on ALSA committees such as Public Relations, Legislation, and as chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee for Real Property Reports, and chairman of the Public Relations Committee

  • Member of the Canadian Institute of Geomatics and the Association of Canada Lands Surveyors

  • Employed with UMA Geomatics, A Division of UMA Engineering Ltd, in Calgary

  • Hobbies include fly fishing and tying his own flies.

Don retired as an Alberta Land Surveyor in 2004.
