John Ironstone
John was b orn
in Brampton, Ontario and graduated from Ryerson Polytechnic in
1977 (major - Geodetic
Science) and moved to Edmonton the same year. He articled to
Bob Baker, ALS (Hon. Life) member, from beautiful
downtown Lethbridge, and received his ALS commission in
1984 while employed
with the Director of Surveys office.
John amassed a vast range of surveying
experience from both the public and private sector from
1977 to
2007. Most recently
involved in the oil and gas industry, in the capacity of Project Manager
(Hamilton & Olsen Surveys & All West Surveys). John has also been an
inspector in the Director of Surveys office under the auspices of Section 6
of the Surveys Act.
Hobbies include hockey, golf and
cruising on an assortment of motorized machines (likes to feel the wind
through his hair).
