1968 - The First
ALSA Office
1968 was
Bob Baker’s
first year as Secretary-Treasurer and Registrar of the Association following
Jack Holloway's retirement. The Association also moved into new premises at
Suite 218 in the Bonnie Doon Shopping Centre.
The membership at the 1968 Annual General Meeting spent some time considering
proposed amendments to the Planning Act and a report on the restoration and
preservation of survey monuments. However, the membership was preoccupied with
the need for the establishment of a degree course and the difficulty in finding
satisfactorily trained technicians.
